Trailer Management
The Traffilog system provides complete trailer management with the ability to transmit data on the identity of a connected trailer, as well as historical data, including mileage, position, and routes. The system can identify a 'passive' trailer by installing an active device onto the truck and a passive device onto the trailer. When the truck is connected to the trailer, the trailer unit is activated, immediately reports its IP, and confirms/disconfirms if the correct trailer was connected. When a trailer is connected to a truck, it functions as any standard Traffilog device, reporting information on mileage, routes, speed, and position. Similarly, the unit may also be connected to external sensors, such as open/close door sensors and load temperature sensors. To identify an 'active' trailer, Traffilog installs a device onto the trailer, together with a long-life battery. In this scenario, the Traffilog unit reports mileage, routes, speed, and position, and may also be connected to external sensors, such as open/close door sensors and load temperature sensors. The device reports when the trailer is disconnected from the truck, and can easily be configured to transmit for up to two years without battery charging or external power sources. |
